Meg AI
Proven
Meg’s artificial intelligence starts with science evaluated by the National Institutes of Health in a randomized control trial. This research proves that consumers eating a diet laden with ultra-processed foods gain weight, while those eating a diet of lightly processed foods, lose weight. The differences were seen within days. Subsequent work shows the addictive nature of these ‘engineered’ foods. Simply put, when we eat them, our gut sends a signal to our brain to eat more. This doesn’t happen with more minimally processed foods. Today, engineered foods comprise about 80 percent of a typical shopper’s grocery cart.
Convenient
Recognizing that logging is seen as chore by many people, Meg makes this easy. Just tell Meg what you ate and ‘her’ natural language processing matches what you say to a dataset of about 1 million foods. Her food recognition accuracy is about 93% (comparable to the leading smart speaker) and if ‘she’ doesn’t know the food, she’ll usually suggest what she thinks you mean.
Personal
Meg provides a highly personalized user experience. Meg delivers a personal, spoken, beginning-of-day greeting and personalized suggestions through the day reflecting your declared preferences or preferences we infer. She learns and adapts to your behavior. For example, she’ll seek to remind you when you are most likely to respond or ask you if you had your ‘usual’ breakfast.
Predictive
Each day, by about noon, Meg predicts your day’s outcome (on-track to lose weight) and provides guidance if she sees you’re not going to meet your goal today. Our testing shows her prediction is accurate about 90 percent of the time. And, as Meg gets to know you better her prediction gets more accurate.
